We are a praying church! We believe that without prayer there will always be a deficiency in growing and maturing as a believer.
We believe that with Christ all things are possible and that we are all an EX something, but through Christ, we have been redeemed. He took our EX, ex-convict, drug dealer, homosexual, liar, adulterer, manipulator, thief, or whatever we were and turned it into Extraordinary, a new creation for the advancement of the Kingdom!
Crystal and Johann Varner
Pastor Crystal has been called to equip, heal, and deliver God’s people through the preached word of God and the laying on of hands. She is known for her ability to relate to and meet people right where they are, crossing generations and cultures through the love of Christ. Her messages challenge people where they are and push them to where God desires them to be. She truly has a heart for God’s people and the Kingdom and believes that everyone deserves a second chance no matter what they’ve gone through in life.
And because we serve a God of Love, He often gives second, third, and fourth chances.
Deacon Johann serves alongside his wife Pastor Crystal. He is lovingly known in the community as Yo. Deacon Yo has a heart to serve in whatever capacity that’s required of him in God’s house; and is always eager to learn and do what’s required to ensure that God’s house operates in decency and order. He was drawn to Christ through the love of music and oversees the Music and Media Ministries as Director of Music.
He understands that when true authentic praise and worship go forward, we can sit under an open heaven and witness heaven on earth. He knows that we were all created to worship Christ with our deeds, trumpets, stringed instruments, and with our dance; and that music is an instrument that God designed to push us into higher realms with Him. Psalm 150:1-6
Evangelist Ciera Walker serves in the role of Chief Ministry Officer. She has been boldly spreading the Word of God for over 10 years and is always eager to tell someone about the goodness of Jesus Christ and how He saved her. Whether on her job, in church, or on the streets, you can always rely on Ciera to share God's word with those who cross her path. Her motto is, if God can change her, He can change anyone and she’s always eager to tell her testimony. Revelations 12:11-12.
As Chief Ministry Officer, Ciera is responsible for ensuring that every person who visits EC encounters Christ, through the love that’s shown, the grace that’s given, and the experience they encounter.
